Dan MacDuff & Lewis Hill are a big part of the Media enrichment. Without them our recent project; The BBC School Report wouldn't have been the success that is has been. The BBC School report is a annual news day which takes place every year in March where schools across the UK create a media form of their choice demonstrating recent news. This year it was decided by the students to based the report on fellow tutee Jordan Onyeka's recent competition success which won him $500 and an all expenses paid trip to Washington DC to enable him to further achieve his dreams of becoming a successful rap artist. Both students' skills and dedication to the department are simply outstanding. They have been supporting the RAM Enrichment club; students from year 7-11 by attending Tuesdays after school to support both the department and to share their skill sets with the younger students. This year Dan and Lewis have taken the BBC School Report into their own hands assisted by the students by filming and editing the project ready for the deadline through directing the project and by creating a impressive video of the interview which can be seen below. We are immensely proud and thankful for their commitment to the department and for what they have achieved. Please take a look of their video that they have created for this years BBC School Report:

Peter Cannings is new to the RAM Academy joining this year to the enrichment course/form group. Peter has been involved in various different projects both helping various departments in the school and also applying for national competitions within his RAM sessions. He is an asset to the department through activities such as helping promote the school production 'Grease' through his photography and video footage and which helped contribute to the production's 'trailer' as well as being a part of the tech team during all the rehearsals and the three evening performances. Peter has now further offered his assistance by agreeing to edit the footage of the production in order to create a DVD for the show. Through his impressive dedication to the media department we have now decided to appoint Peter the position to assist our technician in order to help monitor the department's kit and to feedback if it is not already so. Within Peter's RAM session he has previously applied for the competition ' 90 to 5' editing challenge where he received footage from the film 'Alice & Wonderland' which then had to be condensed into just 5 minutes. This was judged via their editing skills and interpretation of the text. Here is Peter's final application: Thank you Peter for all of your hard work and enthusiasm in the department!
