This year the RAM enrichment took part in the annual BBC School Report. A news day which takes place every year in March where schools across the UK create a media form of their choice demonstrating recent news. "BBC News School Report gives 11-16 year-old students in the UK the chance to make their own news reports for a real audience" (BBC.co.uk) This year the focus of our report, as chosen by the students in the Academy, was on the successes of Jordan Onyeka's rap career. A year 12 student here at Ravens Wood School who has recently won an international competition; 'Teensdream'. Jordan has won $500 and an all expenses paid flight to Washington DC to meet contacts to enable him to get one step closer to achieving his dream;a successful rapper. During our RAM enrichment this week the RAM Academy worked extremely hard preparing and filming the Interview of Jordan for the BBC School Report and we are delighted and so impressed with the level of professionalism of the final product. Everyone worked so hard and we are proud of all of the students within the enrichment. A special mention to Deryck Bulley-Tagoe (year 8) for interviewing Jordan, to Alfie Lawrence (year 7), Joseph Jacura (year 7) and Elliot Minto (year 10) for filming the interview. Furthermore to Dan MacDuff (year 12), Lewis Clift (Year 12) and Oliver Elliott (year 8) for editing the footage and creating the video. Also, a big well done to Dominic Poulton (year 7) and Tyler Graves (year 7) for creating a website and publishing an article based on the interview for the school report. This will be linked from the BBC Website. All of the students involved worked very hard to ensure that the video interview was produced to a very high quality and by the deadline. A big thank you to everyone involved and for working so well.
