Jordan Onyeka also known as 'JAYO' is a dedicated member of the Media academy and a talented rapper who creates his own music/videos. Recently, Jordan had applied for an international competiton 'Teensdream' where he had to submit a video showcasing his passion of rapping which he wishes to pursue as a career.
We are immensely proud to say Jordan won the competition in all three categories and therefore he has received the grand prize of $500 and gained an all expenses paid trip to Washington DC to meet contacts to enable him to get one step closer to achieving his dream; to become a successful rapper. Here is what Jordan had to say about his competition entry; "The task was to create 2 minutes worth of footage, articulating your dream (personal, community or global), and how you hope to see it realised. Mine was that millions of people would hear my music, and so the theme of my entry was based on my journey as a young musician from 2011 up until now (2015). Personally, it was not only an opportunity for me to showcase my talent (as the music in the video was created by myself), but also a chance for people to understand what I've done and how much music means to me. The reward for winning is $500 and the opportunity to work with people that can help you realise your dreams." Online 'JAYO' is a YouTube Hit branded as 'JAYOStream' where he shares all of his recent songs and music videos with his susbscribers. His first video gaining over 7,000 views. We would like to take this opportunity to say how proud and excited we are for Jordan. He is an example to so many students here at Ravens Wood School and we wish him all the best in the future with his career as we are sure he will go very far. Here is Jordan's submission.

Following Jordan's competition success we decided to base the RAM Enrichment project (year 7-11s) the BBC School Report on Jordan's story. The young students were memorised by Jordan's talents and success and were extremely excited about this project. Here they interviewed Jordan, created a video and made a website/blog based upon Jordan's success. Please see the link and video below to see what they made: http://rwsschoolreport2016.weebly.com/
